30-NOV-2008: Maggs apologises to fans after 'embarrassing' performance

John Maggs has apologised to supporters for what he called an 'embarrassing performance' by his players in yesterday's heavy defeat against Harrow Borough. The Hornets boss offered no excuses for his side's humiliating capitulation, unsurprisingly adding that none of his players emerged with any credit from a match in which Horsham suffered their biggest league defeat since the 5-0 loss at Chelmsford City in February 2007. 29-NOV-2008: Harrow Borough 6 Horsham 1

Horsham's long winless run at Harrow Borough continues after this comprehensive defeat, their heaviest defeat in more than 2 years. Northern Ireland U21 midfielder Robin Shroot gave the hosts the lead on 25 minutes and he was the creator of Borough's 2nd and 3rd goals - for Danny Leech and Miles Jones - a minute either side of half-time, to leave the visitors facing an uphill task. Jones grabbed made it 4-0 on 62 minutes before Evan Archibald ended the Hornets' goal drought after an hour with a penalty but Bobby Highton made it 5 for Harrow, 13 minutes from the end, before Shroot completed the scoring in the 87th minute. 26-NOV-2008: Horsham 0 Billericay Town 1

Horsham made it 3 games without a win or a goal after Joe Flack's 85th minute strike earned Billericay the points at a deserted Woodside Road to leapfrog John Maggs' side in to 10th place in the Ryman Premier Division table. The Hornets created several chances but failed to show any great conviction in front of goal and were undone when they failed to clear a corner, allowing Flack to shoot in to the bottom corner just 12 minutes after coming on as a substitute.

25-NOV-2008: Horsham v Billericay Town: MATCH PREVIEW

Tony Acheampong has been ruled out of Wednesday night's Ryman Premier League meeting with visiting Billericay Town (kick-off 7.45pm) after suffering a swollen ankle following Saturday's goalless draw with AFC Hornchurch. The Hornets also have doubts about the fitness of Gary Charman, who is struggling with bruised ribs, while Lee Carney and Jack Page remain on the sidelines with groin problems to pave the way for Williams Peauroux to make his first start for the club since his arrival from Ebbsfleet. 22-NOV-2008: Horsham 0 AFC Hornchurch 0

Gary Charman was taken to hospital as Horsham played out a goalless draw with visiting AFC Hornchurch on a bitterly cold afternoon in Worthing. The Hornets' longest serving player had the game's first chance when he forced a good save from Dale Brightly before injuring his ribs in a challenge and being replaced by new signing Williams Peauroux. Jean Michel Sigere and Lee Farrell both had chances to open the scoring as the home side enjoyed the better of the first half but they lost their way after the break and were fortunate to escape when Simon Parker hit a post and Sam Page performed a crucial block to prevent the same player from grabbing the winner with the final kick of the match. 21-NOV-2008: Just like watching Peauroux

John Maggs will include former Three Bridges captain Williams Peauroux in the squad to face AFC Hornchurch tomorrow after the midfielder signed Ryman League forms today. The Frenchman is currently on the books of Blue Square Premier Ebbsfleet United but a lack of first team opportunities led Fleet boss Liam Daish to agree to allow him join the Hornets on loan. Peauroux began the season at Eastleigh but was introduced to the club through his friend, and compatriot, Jean-Michel Sigere and has attended a number of training sessions in recent weeks. Tony Nwachukwu will miss the game to attend a wedding

19-NOV-2008: Horsham 0 Wealdstone 2

Horsham's brief winning run came to an end tonight against a strong and organised Wealdstone side who scored a goal in each half to leapfrog Sutton in to 9th place with a 5th successive league win. Marvin Sordell gave the visitors a 7th minute lead and, although the Hornets created a number of half chances, that was the way it remained at the break. The second half brought very little threat to the Stones goal and substitute Davis Haule headed his side's second on 77 minutes to complete a fairly comfortable win for the visitors. More...

17-NOV-2008: Maggs answers critics

John Maggs was full of praise for his players following Saturday's 2-0 win at Boreham Wood, describing it as a "thoroughly professional performance". Maggs, who announced that he has finalised the renewal of a contract to keep him at the club until 2010, reflected on a third league win in a row and hit back at criticism of his side's performance. 15-NOV-2008: Boreham Wood 0 Horsham 2

Tony Acheampong's first goal for the club sent Horsham on their way to a 2-0 win at Boreham Wood this afternoon. The big defender headed home in the 55th minute to give the Hornets a lead they scarcely deserved after a lacklustre first half display in which they had new signing Rob Tolfrey to thank for keeping the game scoreless at the break when he tipped a Chris Watters free-kick over the bar. An improved second half showing was rewarded when Jean-Michel Sigere won and converted a penalty, 11 minutes from the end, to secure a third successive league victory for John Maggs' side who move up 2 places to 11th place in the Ryman Premier Division table. 15-NOV-2008: Tolfrey eases goalkeeping concerns

Horsham have secured the services of Whyteleafe goalkeeper Rob Tolfrey following last week's departure of Paul Seuke. The 21 year old had a spell at Kent League side Beckenham Town before joining Crawley Town in 2006, where he made a number of appearances in the Nationwide Conference, before joining Whyteleafe. Tolfrey was cleared to make his debut in this afternoon's match at Boreham Wood.

15-NOV-2008: Howard's on the move

Hornets boss John Maggs has given the go-ahead for Andy Howard to join Three Bridges this week after the defender expressed his frustration at the lack of first team opportunities. Howard found himself restricted to substitute appearances following the signing of Tony Acheampong, and the return to fitness of Sam Page, and joins the County Leaguers after playing 110 times for the Hornets.

It was presentation time on Saturday as 4 of the current first team quad were awarded with mementos in acknowledgement of reaching career milestones with the club. 08-NOV-2008: Horsham 2 Margate 0

Paul Seuke bade farewell to the club with a clean sheet as Horsham recorded a comfortable victory against troubled Margate this afternoon. The goalkeeper announced his premature 'retirement' from the game this week and was rarely troubled as the hosts scored twice in a minute through Gary Charman and Lee Farrell, inside the opening seven minutes, to move up three places in the Ryman Premier Division table. Scott Chalmers-Stevens produced several fine saves to prevent John Maggs' side from extending their lead including two memorable stops from Gary Charman. More...

01-NOV-2008: Horsham 1 Cray Wanderers 2

Horsham suffered an FA Cup hangover, going down 2-1 to Cray Wanderers in a disappointing FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round tie at a rain-lashed Woodside Road this afternoon. Tony Dolby, the man who turned down the assistant manager's role at Horsham during the summer, gave the visitors the lead in the 23rd minute of a dismal first half and Mark Willy made it 2-0, nine minutes from time. Jean-Michel Sigere grabbed a late consolation but it brought little cheer from Horsham's lowest crowd of the season. More...
