Right from the off Matt Bulley’s side were on the attack and Felpham
Colts Youth showed their intent in playing with a lone striker and the
rest of the team behind the ball. The first half consisted of numerous
chances for Horsham with Felpham being kept in the game by a series of
fine saves by their 'keeper. Matt Clarke had a couple of good chances
before being replaced by Josh Clack on 17 minutes, Dan Petchey also
had several decent long range efforts saved before going off to be
replaced by Sam Bulley on the half hour but, despite playing some fine
passing football, the young Hornets were unable to break the deadlock.
The second half saw more changes with Petchey coming back to replace
Daryl Jeeves and, 5 minutes into the half, Clarke came back to replace
George Hall. This change was to bring about the first goal as Clarke
chested down a corner by Bulley to give Josh Clack an easy finish.
Masih had 2 chances saved, 5 minutes later, and then 22 minutes into
the half Tom Blown replaced Stuart Chester at the back. Just after the
change Felpham had a couple of chances, which were comfortably dealt
with by Kieran Towse. Once settled the defence weren’t troubled again.
With 60 minutes gone Horsham doubled their lead when another corner by
Bulley was headed home by Petchey and the remainder of the game saw
Felpham rarely venture out of their half and continue to frustrate the
young Hornets.
With their 2 nearest rivals not playing this moves Horsham 10 points
clear still with a game in hand over Fishergate Flyers
